Amber & Tim - Sheraton Baltimore North Wedding Photography

This wedding was a fun change of pace for me. I knew from the beginning that Tim and Amber were a fun-loving couple, and their April Fools' wedding did not disappoint!

This photo below cracks me up, because at first glance, it looks pretty normal. However, when you take a closer look, you can see Tim updating his Facebook status to say "I do" during the actual ceremony vows.

The following photo was also a first for me. Not only did Tim pull a rubber chicken out from underneath Amber's dress during the garter removal, he also managed to find a can of silly spray. Ha!

Jess & Rob - Baltimore Aquarium Engagement Photography

At our very first meeting, Rob was wearing a t-shirt that referenced the Princess Bride. And that was pretty much the moment I knew we'd all get along just fine. Anybody who wears a Princess Bride t-shirt is okay in my book. :)

So I was already looking forward to capturing their fun personalities in an engagement session. Then a couple months ago, Jessica emailed and said they kinda wanted to do their photos at the Baltimore Aquarium and what did I think of that idea. Ummm, awesome! was pretty much what I thought. Turns out for a little bit more money, you can actually get into the aquarium an hour prior to the doors opening for general admission guests. It was pretty cool to see things so peaceful and quiet and without the crowds. As a result,  I think Jess and Rob now have some truly unique photos and a fun story to tell. (How about the part where they got up at 4 a.m. in order to be dressed and ready and drive an hour-and-a-half into Baltimore? Yikes!)

Photographing Ghosts

Okay, so the title might be a little misleading... these ghosts were, in fact, man-made. But scary nonetheless!

Let me start at the beginning. When fellow photographer Mike Busada (Mike B Photography) asked if I wanted to tag along to a haunted ghost tours photo shoot he had lined up at the Paca house in Annapolis, I jumped at the opportunity! Mike's work is awesome (seriously, check it out!) and I was excited to shoot alongside him and steal his techniques see how he does it. :)

I was happy to bring a few ideas of my own to the shoot, and all in all I think we nailed it! I can definitely think of about five ways I would do things differently (and better!) if I had it to do over, but I still got a few frames I'm proud of. I had it in my head I wanted to use a green gel (don't ask me why, it just seemed "spooky") so that was fun to play around with. The benefit of shooting without getting paid is that you can't do anything wrong!

Can you spot the ghosts? They made two appearances in the following photos.

Jadyn - 3 months

Remember when I photographed this cutie? Well she's three months old now, and back for more! :) This kid is seriously adorable. (Okay, I might be biased because she belongs to my friends Bryan and Marissa, but see for yourself!)

Jadyn's cousins Emma and Jacie also stopped by for some photos for Grandma. What a nice idea!

Sarah & Joe - Alexandria Maternity Portraits

Sarah and Joe just recently moved to Alexandria and it was so nice of Jennifer and Brian to refer them to me! Sarah wanted some maternity pictures and she and her husband were kind enough to invite me into their house for the session. I love shooting in people's homes because it's always a more personal atmosphere that really reflects in the photos. (Also, it was super cold outside.) We did end up heading into downtown Alexandria for a few shots, and Sarah and Joe even sat in the snow for me! Troopers.

Sarah is just about the cutest pregnant girl you will ever see. She hardly looked pregnant, for starters, and I think any woman would be jealous of her perfectly round pregnant belly. We included Joe in most of the photos because they really wanted it to be about the family - he loosened up quickly and transformed into a great model!

I hope I get to photograph Baby Jet when he arrives! :)
