Arizona Trip - Part 1

I have so many nice photos from my trip out west I don't see how I'm ever going to fit them all in my blog! I guess that's a good problem to have. :) I'm going to break this up into sections and see if that makes it a little easier for viewing.

So the back story is I took my last remaining wedding-less weekend for a while and turned it into a week-long trip to Arizona to visit my friends John and Knicki. AND my friend Louise came over from California to hang out for a couple days too! I hadn't seen her in over a year, so this visit was long overdue!

Aside from just hanging out, I also got to tour most of the state (and a little bit of Utah!). I never realized quite how pretty it is out there. It was seriously some of the most amazing and breathtaking scenery I've seen in my life.

John picked me up at the Phoenix airport and we went directly to the Desert Botanical Garden, which was surprisingly interesting. Who knew cactus came in so many varieties?!?

We followed that up with the zoo.

And then we hiked up the Hole-in-the-Rock, which is pretty much just what it sounds like. :) This is from inside the rock looking out.

Next up, Sedona!

Jet - Newborn Photography

Remember Sarah and Joe's awesome maternity session? Well, Baby Jet was born in late March, and I got to photograph him at only a week old! He's a super-cute ball of joy and I can already tell that Sarah and Joe will be exceptional parents.

I love this photo of Jet with his dad's pilot helmet and mask. It's bigger than he is!

Amber & Tim - Sheraton Baltimore North Wedding Photography

This wedding was a fun change of pace for me. I knew from the beginning that Tim and Amber were a fun-loving couple, and their April Fools' wedding did not disappoint!

This photo below cracks me up, because at first glance, it looks pretty normal. However, when you take a closer look, you can see Tim updating his Facebook status to say "I do" during the actual ceremony vows.

The following photo was also a first for me. Not only did Tim pull a rubber chicken out from underneath Amber's dress during the garter removal, he also managed to find a can of silly spray. Ha!

Jess & Rob - Baltimore Aquarium Engagement Photography

At our very first meeting, Rob was wearing a t-shirt that referenced the Princess Bride. And that was pretty much the moment I knew we'd all get along just fine. Anybody who wears a Princess Bride t-shirt is okay in my book. :)

So I was already looking forward to capturing their fun personalities in an engagement session. Then a couple months ago, Jessica emailed and said they kinda wanted to do their photos at the Baltimore Aquarium and what did I think of that idea. Ummm, awesome! was pretty much what I thought. Turns out for a little bit more money, you can actually get into the aquarium an hour prior to the doors opening for general admission guests. It was pretty cool to see things so peaceful and quiet and without the crowds. As a result,  I think Jess and Rob now have some truly unique photos and a fun story to tell. (How about the part where they got up at 4 a.m. in order to be dressed and ready and drive an hour-and-a-half into Baltimore? Yikes!)
