So I guess it's time to begin my 2009 list of books I've read. I read a total of 43 in 2008. Not a bad number, but I'd like to try and read even more. I think reading makes me smarter. Or at least it makes me feel smarter. Which is almost as good.

43 books?! Dang! Good work. What was the BEST book you read last year?
Hmmm... good question. I think the best book I read last year would have to be "The Tender Bar" by J.R. Moehringer. Amazing. It was sincere, well-written and the most touching memoir I think I've ever read. "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving was awesome as well. Both of these books made me cry. (Which I try not to do very often, so it is definitely the mark of a good read.)
I recommend A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. If you haven't read it yet.
