Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Poor Noah. He had to put up with 40 days of this on the ark during the Flood. And I'm complaining after only four!

My friend Ted was in town Monday visiting. I've been needing a break from shooting nothing but couples and weddings and couples and weddings, so we drove down to Chesapeake Beach to see if we could find something interesting to shoot. We watched the sky get progressively darker and darker during lunch, and sure enough, just as soon as we stepped outside it started to sprinkle. Then rain. Then downpour.

Nonetheless, I had fun chasing the seagulls.

Rachel & Brian - Annapolis Engagement Photography

Wow. I don't know what it was with these guys, but they couldn't take a bad photo. They had great smiles, cute outfits, fun personalities, and awesome chemistry! Doesn't get much better than that. Didn't hurt that the light was perfect too. Watching them interact and getting to know them a little better made me even more excited for their wedding next July.

Krystle & John - Herrington Harbour Wedding Photography

Poor Krystle and John. I've hardly seen a couple with worse wedding-day luck. Not only did it rain pretty much the whole entire day of their wedding, there was a huge accident on Rte. 2 that prevented about 20 guests from being able to attend the ceremony.

The good news? They still got married!

Herrington Harbour is a gorgeous outdoor venue on the Chesapeake Bay, so we made sure to get plenty of photos with boats and water in the background (we just had to be under awnings and covered patios!). I really appreciated Krystle's attitude and willingness to get a little wet for the sake of a photo.

Okay, "little wet" might be an exaggeration. I'm pretty sure she was soaked before the ceremony began!

Huge thanks to Stephen Elliot of Mud Productions for doing an awesome job (as usual) as a second photographer. The following three images are his.

Christie & Brian - Roanoke Wedding Photography

Right after I met Christie for the first time (which was the day of her wedding), she promptly informed me that she wanted to do photos with her bridesmaids on the playground beside the church.

And that's when I knew we would get along just fine!

There was nothing this girl wouldn't do, including sliding down the railing on the front steps of the church. I loved it!

The best part: I'm pretty sure this is how Christie is in real life too, not just in a wedding dress. Life is one big adventure for Christie and Brian, and their enthusiasm and laughter was contagious.

William - 3 years

Some of you might vaguely remember the blog post with William's photos from last year. Well I was thrilled when his mom called me about doing photos again this year! William is such a cute kid. Being three, he's into tractors so we thought it'd be fun to go "on the farm" for the session. What we didn't plan on  was him being a little frightened by the cows and big equipment! After looking at this first photo, I can understand why. Haha! The cows do look awfully menacing.

That aside, I did get quite a few cute photos!
