Maryana & Kevin - Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding Photographer

Maryana and Kevin sure picked a beautiful September day for their Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding! This whole wedding was incredible, but the thing that stands out in my memory the most is Maryana herself. She looked so gorgeous, it was ridiculous. Maryana is the only person I've seen (to this day!) get a standing ovation walking into the ceremony. I think people were in awe and just didn't know what to do other than applaud. Ha! Not to leave Kevin out - he was looking pretty dapper himself. After a touching ceremony, it was party time. And by party time I mean awesome Russian dance party! Maryana's family is Russian, and I swear there were times I felt like I was in a European club when song after song went by in a foreign language. Not gonna lie, it was a pretty refreshing change from the Cha Cha Slide!

Best Songs of 2012

This post has become an annual thing (2011, 2010, 2009, 2008), and one that's always fun to look back on. I spend a lot of time in the car (listening to music), editing at my desk (listening to music) and in the kitchen (listening to music). You see the trend? So when I find new bands and new songs that make me excited, I want to share the love! Here are my favorite discoveries from last year. Best of 2012 - Weddings

We're only two weeks into the new year, so it's not too late to do my "best of" posts yet... right? :) I always look forward to reading these on other people's blogs, and assembling one for my own. It's kinda cool to see the compilation of 12 months of work. I know last year I said 2011 was the best year yet, but I take it back. 2012 rocked my socks off! I don't really want to sound like a Christmas brag letter here, so I'll simply say I am hugely blessed! Between the awesome 40+ weddings I shot, the incredible trips I took, and the most perfect wedding of all (my own!) it was a darn good year.
